Lebara review: What do you get?
Lebara offers monthly rolling plans that kick off at just £5, providing unlimited texts, unlimited calls, and 3GB of data. These plans scale up to a 30GB option priced at £15, and an unlimited data plan at a competitive £25. With no binding long-term contract, you retain the freedom to cancel at any point, plus the advantage of 5G access wherever it’s available (provided your device supports it). Similar to Voxi, Lebara operates through Vodafone’s mobile network, functioning as a virtual mobile network operator (VMNO).
While these affordable plans may not include all the extras and features found on pricier networks, Lebara does sweeten the deal by incorporating 100 international minutes across all its SIM-only plans. This feature proves beneficial for those in touch with family or friends abroad, or individuals necessitating international calls for professional purposes.
Lebara Customer service
Lebara’s cost-effectiveness could potentially impact its customer service quality. According to our 2022 Mobile Network Awards survey, 42% of respondents expressed high satisfaction with their customer service, while an additional 28% reported being content. Despite these relatively positive figures, it still ranks among the lower-scoring networks in our survey. Only 6.6% of users indicated dissatisfaction.
However, on the flip side, 42% of participants in our 2022 Mobile Network Awards survey were highly satisfied with Lebara’s customer service, with another 28% expressing satisfaction. Impressively, a mere 6.6% conveyed dissatisfaction.
Even more striking is Lebara’s impeccable performance in the realm of value for money. An impressive 83% of users declared themselves highly satisfied, while 17% expressed being fairly satisfied. When combining these figures, the outcome is zero unsatisfied customers. This remarkable accomplishment earned Lebara our coveted Best Value award.
Presently, it’s worth noting that Lebara isn’t covered by Ofcom’s customer service and satisfaction reports, limiting our ability to compare it to other networks in this regard.
Lebara review: Coverage, reliability and speed
Operating atop Vodafone’s foundational network, Lebara users can anticipate commendable speeds and coverage. However, the latest RootMetrics data reveals that EE and Three offer broader coverage and swifter speeds. Vodafone’s median UK download speed of 23.8Mbits/sec lags behind Three’s 29.9Mbits/sec and EE’s 66.2Mbits/sec. Nevertheless, it still surpasses O2’s 16.4Mbits/sec. Furthermore, Vodafone outpaces Three’s average speeds in regions like Wales and Northern Ireland. In several UK cities, Vodafone stands as one of the speedier alternatives, boasting median download speeds exceeding 50Mbits/sec in three of the 16 cities subjected to RootMetrics’ testing.
