Alessandro Paluzzi has revealed that Instagram is developing a feature that enables users to make posts exclusively for their Close Friends.
If introduced, this feature would allow users to share private content, such as dorky posts and photo dumps, exclusively with their closest friends. Additionally, content creators and influencers could utilize the feature to monetize their content by offering exclusive information to their Close Friends.
Paluzzi reports that a new “Audience” tab will be added to the feed when posting, allowing users to choose between sharing with everyone or just their Close Friends. This means that exclusive content can be shared with select individuals on both Instagram Stories and the feed.
The release date for this feature is uncertain, but it’s improbable that Instagram will limit Close Friends exclusively to Stories and not include it in the feed.
Recently, the social media platform revealed a new feature allowing users to include a soundtrack to photo posts on the feed. The feature is being tested on carousel posts and Notes, which has not yet launched. Furthermore, it’s now possible to include multiple links in your bio.
Instagram appears to be trying to cater to every user by providing everything they might want. The app aims to consolidate every type of post in users’ primary accounts, rather than having them create separate profiles for more niche audiences. From engaging with a larger audience to connecting with their closest friends, Instagram is attempting to offer it all.
