After the incident in Halifax, two individuals, as well as the student, were transported to the hospital for medical attention.
According to police, a student has been apprehended on suspicion of stabbing two staff members at a high school in Halifax, Canada. The incident occurred on Monday, and all three individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment. It is uncertain how severe their injuries are. The police have confirmed that the suspect attends the school. A representative for the Halifax regional center for education, Lindsey Bunin, stated that there were previous concerns regarding the student who was present in an administrative office when the attack happened. The student then departed the building, but law enforcement arrived quickly on the scene.
Upon responding to a weapons complaint at approximately 9:20 am, the police took a suspect into custody about 10 minutes later. The high school, which has a student body of roughly 1,700 in grades 10 through 12, was briefly locked down and subsequently closed for the day with students being dismissed. Such violent incidents are infrequent in Canada, especially in the Atlantic coast provinces. Raghad Ghazal, a 15-year-old grade 10 student, described witnessing the situation while she was outside the building. She observed a man holding a knife running away, with a security guard pursuing him with a broom. “He was just chasing after him and then there were five police cars that came and they were surrounding him,” Ghazal stated as she waited outside for a bus. “I was kind of shocked.”
